What should I do to transfer a domain to DOMAINSunder?.

Domain transfers can take anywhere from 3 to 8 days to complete. However, the exact time-frame depends on the domain extension and your current registrar. You need to assure that the following applies to the domain:

    • The domain must be registered or transferred between registrars more than 60 days ago
    • The domain has been “Unlocked” for transfer at the current registrar (domain status should be OK or Active)
    • The domain is showing your current e-mail for the admin contact in the whois as that is where the authorization email will be sent to. Please make sure you disable privacy protection/private registration for your domain, otherwise the transfer may fail due to the fact that the contact information is protected in Whois
    • The domain is not expired

ATTENTION: If your domain expired with your old registrar and you renewed it with them, please do not transfer it within 45 days of the previous expiration date. Otherwise, according to ICANN an extra year would not be added to your domain name since losing registrar revokes renewal in such cases. And you’d lose renewal fees paid to the old registrar.

You should submit a transfer request for the domain from within your DOMAINSunder account by going to Order->Choose Another Category-> Transfer Domain section. After the transfer is requested you will need enter the EPP/ Authorization code acquired from your current registrar in your DOMAINSunder account: once signed in your account, you need to click on your username – it will be on the black bar located at the top of the page, select Manage Transfers, click on your domain and enter the EPP code. Once the code is entered then the process begins.

You will also receive a transfer-approval email to the Administrative contact email address listed for the domain in public Whois. This email comes from Once the transfer is confirmed the losing registrar has 5 days to release the domain. But you may contact your registrar and ask whether they can release the domain sooner. If everything is okay, the domain is released and added to your account.
